Gold Coast Power, Inc. was established in 1982 and incorporated in 1985 — one of the pioneer companies to build its own computer database of diesel engines and related equipment sourced from across the U.S.
Founder John Rubano began his career with RPM Diesel in 1968, working at the authorized Detroit Diesel facility for 14 years. During that time he earned factory training and certification on the 53, 71, and 92 series diesel engines, and ran the service department of 15 technicians for eight years. Over the following three decades, John built a network of Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, and Cummins dealer and distributor contacts — the same network Gold Coast Power draws on today to find buyers the best possible deal.
Stephanie Walker joined RPM Diesel in 1986, and moved to Gold Coast Power in 1995. As John Rubano's right-hand, Stephanie ran everything from sales and shop oversight to customer relations. In 2017, John officially retired and handed the reins to Stephanie.
